JOB DESCRIPTION:Â Operating Room Technician / Interventional Radiologic Technologist will be able to perform duties in Special Procedures/Interventional Radiology. These duties will include but not limited to assisting in scrubbing all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Ability to drive/pan table for all procedures. Ability to monitor all procedures. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the adult and geriatric population.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs basic patient care tasks under the direction of the Physician before, during and after Angio procedures. Including but not limited to patient consultations, patient preparation (provides procedure gowns), checking vital signs, limited IV insertions, administering medications, and observing patient responses.
· Assist the Physician during Interventional procedures by monitoring and controlling the Angio equipment via remote control terminal.
· Records patient treatment data into patient’s medical file. Updates accordingly and verifies for accuracy and completeness. Monitors cases in Pending exam status and facilitates completion.
· Reviews patient administrative information for accuracy and completeness; Provides the necessary follow up to ensure patient’s intake has been properly facilitated; may require verification by contacting insurance companies or referring physicians. Scans copies of completed intake and treatment paperwork into electronic patient medical file.
· Conducts intake interviews with new or readmitted patients to gather necessary administrative information, assisting patients in completing paperwork, and answers general inquiries.
· Demonstrate knowledge required to operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps.
· Maintains clean workspace in the Angio rooms within Infection Control standards. Protects and Safeguards GRC Assets.
· Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
· Understand and support the department policies and procedures.
SKILLS:
· Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, competent skills and expertise.
· Must have basic knowledge of CPT codes and ICD 10 Codes
· Strong phone, verbal, and written communication skills along with active listening
· Customer focus and adaptability to different personality types
· Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
EDUCATION:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Graduate from an Interventional Radiology Technologist education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
· 1 - 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, preferred.
· 1 - 2 years critical care experience with IV skills, Radiology, Cardiology, Surgical and/or Medical Experience (i.e. Medical Assistant, EMT, CNA), highly preferred.
· 1 - 2 years of experience with Medical software or EMR, preferred.
· Knowledge of HIPAA and all areas of accessing medical information, including medical terminologies, provider templating, maintains a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, preferred.

SCHEDULE:
· 8-hour shift; 40 hours per week
· Day shift
· Monday to Friday
Work Week: Monday-Friday (7:00AM-4:00PM, 8:00AM-5:00PM or 9:00AM-6:00PM); Emergency work hours (STAT cases) occasionally needed to satisfactorily complete job duties.
Weekend Work Required: Flexibility to work every other Saturday (7:00AM-12:00PM or 8:00AM-1:00PM)
