Job Description

MRI Tech Assistant supports the operations of the MRI department through a hybrid of clerical and clinical functions such as scheduling, patient intake, medical record maintenance, administrative logs, answering general inquiries, recording patient vitals, gathering patient history, prepping patient for exam and provides basic patient care under the direction of a Physician and Radiology Technologist; facilitates patient intake, Records patient treatment data necessary for use by internal departments and answer general inquiries.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform basic patient care tasks under the direction of a Physician and Technologist. Including but not limited to patient consultations, checking vital signs, limited IV insertions, administering medications, observing patient responses and monitoring stress tests.

  • Record patient treatment data in patient’s medical file. Update accordingly and verify for accuracy and completeness.

  • Reviews patient administrative information for accuracy and completeness; Provides necessary follow up to ensure patient’s intake has been properly facilitated; may require verification by contacting insurance companies or referring physicians.

  • Conducts intake interviews with new or readmitted Patients to gather necessary administrative information, assisting clients in completing paperwork, explains billing policies/fees, and answers general inquiries.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
