Job Description

Practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentialing and in accordance with the current standards of care. The Nurse Practitioner will work with our team of Interventional Radiologists to assist with treatment, minor surgical procedures, and administering medications.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with the interventional radiologist to assist in treatment and evaluation of patients for hemodialysis access management and follow-up, biopsy procedures and pre-op, Peripheral vascular disease and venous disease.

  • Will see patients for follow up to discuss results to include labs, hemodialysis-access ultrasound, arterial/venous peripheral ultrasound studies, CT’s , CTAs, MRI, Xray and follow-ups post procedure, such as LE angioplasty, LE atherectomy, biopsy results and post-procedure complications etc.

  • Education on disease prevention for vascular diseases and lung cancer screening.

  • Order diagnostic studies such as X-Ray, US, BMD, CT, MRI, PFT, EKG when clinically warranted.

  • Order procedures in collaboration with interventional radiologists such as biopsy, LE angioplasty or LE atherectomy, fistuloplasty, dialysis catheter change or removal etc.

  • Consult with, and potentially refer to, other in-house providers (both NPs and MDs) when patients present with co-morbidities within their scope of care, including Cardiology and Interventional Pain Management.

  • The NP will not be responsible for Opioid maintenance.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

  • Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner focused graduate Master or Doctoral Nursing Program
